Stage 1, level 1Single-digit addition facts

7 + 9 = ?

Each pool asks a question. Choose an exit to ride it down.

Lean into the curves.

Every exit is a flume. Choose one and you ride it down to the next pool.

Lean into the tube wall with A and D or the arrow keys, or with your left thumb on a phone. Your best catch multiplies the points for your next answer.

Catch the lights.

Inside a mint flume, a glowing droplet of light floats just above the water ahead.
Ember ×2. Low on the wall, close to the water. Most lights are embers.
A violet diamond of light hangs higher on the flume wall, rushing toward the rider.
Lantern ×5. Higher up the wall, a few on every ride.
A gold star bursts with light in the middle of the flume as the rider catches it.
Star ×10. One on every ride, almost as high as you can lean.

Multiply your score.

100 points times the level number times your multiplier: level 10 with a star is worth 10,000 points.

Answer correctly for 100 points × the level number × your multiplier, plus up to half as much again for answering quickly.

Answer wrong and it costs 75% of that stake, never taking your score below zero, and brings a fresh question at the same level.
